While you’re at The Gathering don’t miss these informative and interactive workshops…

11am: Ask The Doctor
Do you have questions that you’ve always wanted to ask the doctor, but pressed for time? This is your chance! No formal program – just you and the doctors in front of the group (or one-on-one, if you’d prefer). You’ll receive answers to your questions – and may learn from others, too! PLUS: sign up for a great door prize basket, you don’t need to be present to win, but you need to visit the session to submit your entry. Come prepared and ask away!
Presenters: Nena Stanley, MD (Adult Internal Medicine Wheaton Franciscan – St. Joseph Campus Primary and Specialty Care Practice)  & O’Rell Williams, MD (Adult Internal Medicine – Wheaton Franciscan Medical Group Hospitalist at St. Joseph Campus)

1pm: Forever Family
Are you tired of the power struggles with your ex? Are your children out of control? Are you concerned about how parental conflict is affecting your child’s health? Are you pro-money or pro-child/parent relationship? Are you co-parenting with an inmate? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should attend this straight forward interactive discussion on co-parenting in the 21st Century.
Presenters: Pamala Onuchukwu & Jermaine Reed

2pm: Caregiving and Self-Care: Survival in the Sandwich Generation
Are you caring for both an aging parent and your children or grandchildren?  Do your needs get pushed aside? You are not alone! One of every eight Americans, ages 40 to 60, is both raising a child (or grandchild) AND caring for an aging parent.  Women are the primary caregivers for both the generation above and below – they are called the “sandwich” generation.  Sandwich generation caregivers can feel like they are “being pulled in two directions” leading to work or relationship problems and feelings of depression or inadequacy.  This panel will speak on the importance of self-care during times of caregiving challenges as they provide helpful ideas for how to balance the demands and responsibilities with the important task of keeping yourself whole.
Presenters: Virginia Little (CEO of Temps Plus) & Bettie A. Rodgers (Elder Law Attorney) & Valerie Woods (Milwaukee County Department of Family Care)
