Jammin' 98.3  Recognizes the Milwaukee Area’s Top Scholar Athletes

Muhammad Ali once said, "Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them: a desire, a dream, a vision.“

If you know a middle or high school student that excels in the classroom as well as in sports, nominate that student for the “Jammin 98.3 Scholar Athlete.”

Each month an exceptional young person will be featured on jammin983.com.  The selected student will also win a gift pack courtesy of Concordia University Wisconsin including a backpack with a stylish hooded sweatshirt, comfortable t-shirt and an exclusive insulated mug.

Why does your scholar athlete deserve this recognition?

Kevon is a leader on and off the court. He is a key player on the basketball team and the leading scorer. He consistently makes honor roll with a 4.0 GPA. Kevon is respectful to teachers and classmates. Our goals at Morse are to be safe, be responsible and be respectful. He takes these goals seriously and helps others to achieve them. I am proud to be his teacher.

Mykaell is a phenomenal example of a student athlete. He challenges himself in the classroom by taking senior level mathematics classes. He is a strong leader and a varsity starter on the football and basketball teams since his sophomore year. He is an active participant in the schools top choir. Mykaell's dedication and motivation is unmatched and he continues to prove how determination can achieve goals. He is an excellent example and respected young man.

Jaren is an awesome player on the field of football and basketball. He put's in the time and energy to be a great team player. He has the respect from his coach and team members because he gives out the same respect. He loves the game and it shows. Jaren also puts the same energy into his school work. Sports are important in his life, but he also understands the importance of a great education.

Knox is an out standing student in music and sports. This your he was nominated U W-Stevens Point jazz festival OUT STANDING JAZZ MUSICIAN, NAACP MILWAUKEE BRANCH ACT-SO CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT 2009. Knox has been Quarter Back for Pulaski High School since freshman year and has been dedicated to his practice and teem mates. I am so proud of him. If he,s not blowing his sax he's throwing the ball. Yes I,m his mother a single parent. Knox is living proof that black boys for single parents can achevie. Love MOM.
