Run-D.M.C. star honors Jam Master Jay

Run-D.M.C. star Darryl ‘D.M.C.’ McDaniels joined Jam Master Jay’s son and widow at an event in New York City this week to honor the late DJ.

Jay, who was killed in a 2002 shooting, was the focus of a tribute on Tuesday organized to mark the 10th anniversary of his Scratch DJ Academy, which he set up to help youngsters learn how to master the decks.

His Run-D.M.C. bandmate McDaniels performed a set at the bash, and Jay’s widow, Terri Mizell, gave a moving speech in memory of the star. Their son TJ was also in attendance at the party, which was held at the Canal Room venue in Manhattan, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six. (LR/WNWCPS/PAW)
