NEW ORLEANS (AP) — He was there for the 10th anniversary of the Essence Music Festival. And Prince will also be on hand this week, when the event marks its 20th anniversary.

Organizers say Prince and his musical cohorts will play the main stage at the Superdome.

Among those who will perform as part of Prince’s set will be Janelle Monae and Nile Rodgers.

Other acts to perform at the holiday festival include Nas, Trey Songz, Lionel Richie, Charlie Wilson, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, Tamar Braxton, Ledisi, Erykah Badu, Tevin Campbell and Doug E. Fresh.
